Inauguration of Technical Secretariat of National Education Policy Committee to draft National Education Policy, 2017

New Delhi, August 1 (PIB): Eminent Space Scientist and Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. K. Kasturirangan inaugurated the new office of the Technical Secretariat of the Committee to draft National Education Policy 2017 at the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Campus, Bengaluru today. The committee has been constituted by Human Resource Developement Ministry, Government of India under the Chairmanship of Dr K. Kasturirangan comprising eminent experts from across the Country to draft National Education Policy, 2017. The Technical Secretariat has been housed in the premises of NAAC with UGC being the nodal agency.

Addressing the gathering at the inauguration, Dr. Kasturirangan, Chairman of Committee to Draft National Education Policy, 2017, said the New Education Policy will be precise, rigorous and will have an overarching perspective aimed towards overall National Development. “India has inherently provided powerful knowledge centres like ‘Takshashila’ & ‘Nalanda’ to the world. However there has been a strong disconnect in today’s scenario which needs to be bridged to bring Indian Higher Education into the higher pedestals of Global Education today.

On this occasion, Prof D P Singh, Director, NAAC emphasized the need for holistic education which brings a harmonious balance between modern knowledge and ancient wisdom so that education becomes an effective tool to connect individuals at social, national and global levels.

In his address, Prof M K Sridhar, Member, Committee to Draft National Education Policy, 2017 gave a brief outline on the mandate of the committee. He further noted that considering the perspectives and suggestions of all the stakeholders, the committee intends to submit the report by the end of the year.

Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination 2017

New Delhi, July 29 (PIP): On the basis of the result of the written part of the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination 2017 held by the U.P.S.C. in May, 2017, the candidates with the under mentioned Roll Numbers have qualified for Interview/Personality Test.

The candidature of these candidates is PROVISIONAL subject to their being found eligible in all respects. The candidates would be required to produce the original certificates in support of their claims relating to age, educational qualifications, community, physical disability (where applicable) etc. at the time of the Personality Test. They are, therefore, advised to keep their certificates ready and check before hand the requirement of certificates in accordance with the important instructions available on the website of the Commission before appearing in the Personality Test boards. 

In accordance with the Rules of Examination, all these candidates are required to fill up the Detailed Application Form (D.A.F.), which will be made available on the Commission's Website i.e. http;//www.upsc.gov.infrom 31/07/2017 to 21/08/2017 till 06:00 PM. Important instructions regarding filling up of the DAF and submitting the same ONLINE to the Commission will also be made available on the website. The candidates who have been declared successful have to first get themselves registered on the relevant page of the Commission’s website before filling up the ONLINE Detailed Application Form and submit the same ONLINE alongwith uploading of the scanned copies of relevant certificates/documents in support of their eligibility, claim for reservation etc. The qualified candidates are further advised to refer to the Rules of the Indian Economic Service/ Indian Statistical Service Examination 2017 published in the e-gazette of India, dated 08.02.2017.

The instruction for filling up the DAF and Rules of the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2017, must be read carefully with regard to the certificates that will be produced at the time of Interview. The candidates will be solely responsible for not producing sufficient proof in support of his/her age, date of birth, educational qualification, caste (SC/ST/OBC) and physical disability certificate (in the case of PwD candidates). In case any of the written qualified candidate fails to bring any or all the required original documents in support of his/her candidature for the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2017, he/she will not be allowed to present himself/herself before the PT Board and no TA will be allowed.
Interview of candidates who have qualified for the Personality Test is likely to be held in the month of September, 2017. The exact date of interview will, however, will be intimated to the candidates through e-Summon Letter. Roll  Number-wise  Interview  Schedule  will  also  be  made  available  on the Commission's website. The candidates are requested to visit the Commission’s website (http://www.upsc.gov.in) for updates in this regard.

No request for change in the date and time of Personality Test intimated to the candidates will ordinarily be entertained under any circumstances.

The mark-sheet of candidates who have not qualified, will be uploaded on the Commission's website after the publication of final result (after conducting Personality Test) and will remain available on the website for a period of 60 days.

The candidates can access the marks-sheets after keying in their Roll Numbers and date of birth. The printed/hard copies of the marks-sheet would, however, be issued by UPSC to candidates based on specific request accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope.   Candidates desirous of obtaining printed/hard copies of the marks sheets should make the request within thirty days of the display of the marks on the Commission's website, beyond which such requests would not be entertained.

The result will also be available on the U.P.S.C.'s website http://www.upsc.gov.in.

Any individual who aspires to join any of the above Public Sector Banks in one of these Specialist Officer’s posts will necessarily be required to take the CWE. Prospective candidates who wish to appear for the CWE will have to apply to IBPS and should carefully read the advertisement regarding eligibility criteria, online registration process, pattern of examination, issuance of call letters and score cards.
Each participating Public Sector Bank will independently issue a separate recruitment notification, specifying their vacancies and stipulating the eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, experience (if any), minimum required level of IBPS score in each test and on Total Score (if any) etc.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERION:

Prospective Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria specified by IBPS before applying for the Common Written Examination (CWE):
Please note that the eligibility criteria specified herein are the basic criteria for applying to various Public Sector Banks. However merely applying for CWE/ appearing for and qualifying in the examination does not imply that a candidate will necessarily be eligible for employment in all or any of the 19 Public Sector Banks as each Bank will stipulate its own eligibility/ qualifying criteria.
Candidates are allowed to apply for only one post. The applications of candidates applying for more than one post will be summarily rejected.
I. Nationality / Citizenship:
A candidate must be either -
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Candidates can apply online only from 30.12.2011 to 21.01.2012 and no other mode of application will be accepted.

Company Secretaries (CS) Examination Results out

Results of the Executive Programme and Professional Programme of Company Secretaries Examinations of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) held in December, 2016, were announced on Saturday, February 25 at New Delhi.

The results with subject wise break-up of marks are available here (www.icsi.edu).The ICSI has extended the facility of downloading of e-result-cum-marks statement by the examinees of the Executive Programme.

Toppers include Suryansh Agarwal at All-India level in Professional Programme of Company Secretaries. Sachin Goel has topped the Executive Programme of Company Secretaries. To check the merit list, visit http://icsi.examresults.net/

The next examination of Company Secretaries Executive and Professional Programmes will be held from Thursday, June 1, 2017, to Friday, June 10, 2017.

Civil Service (Main) Examination, 2016

On the basis of the results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2016 held by the Union Public Service Commission from 3rd December to 9th December, 2016, the candidates with the under mentioned Roll Numbers have qualified for Personality Test for selection to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and other Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’).

Candidature of these candidates is provisional subject to their being found eligible in all respects. The candidates will be required to produce the original certificates in support of their claims pertaining to age, educational qualifications, community, physical handicap and other documents such as Questionnaire, Attestation Form and TA Form, etc. at the time of their Personality Test. The formats of SC/ST/OBC and PH certificates and Questionnaire, Attestation Form and TA Form, etc. can be downloaded from the website of the Commission. They are, therefore, advised to keep the said documents ready with them.

Personality Test of these candidates is likely to commence from March 20, 2017. Personality Tests will be held in the Office of the Union Public Service Commission at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069. The date and time of Personality Test will not be intimated to the qualified candidates individually. The date and time of Personality Test of candidates being called for Personality Test will be displayed on the Commission’s Website http://www.upsc.gov.in. The candidates who are not able to download e-summon letter for Personality Test, should immediately contact the office of the Commission through letter or on Phone Nos. 011-23385271, 011-23381125, 011-23098543 or Fax No. 011-23387310, 011-23384472. No paper Summon Letters will be issued for the Personality Test/Interview by the Commission.

No request for change in the date and time of the Personality Test intimated to the candidates will be entertained.

The candidates are advised to notify changes in their address, if any, to the Commission immediately through letter or Fax at Telephone numbers indicated above.

The marks sheets of candidates who have not qualified, will be put on the Commission’s Website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result (after conducting Personality Test) and will remain available on the Website for a period of 60 days.

The result of 03 (three) candidates with following Roll Nos. 0000432,  0010513, 0659780 has been kept withheld subject to the outcome of the Court Case.
