Referenc books on career option launched
Imphal, July 16: A reference book on career options for students ‘NE Career Track Yearbook was launched Monday by Education Minister, M Okendro.
The career handbook published by Guwahati based ‘Career Track’ was unveiled in the office chamber of the Minister at the Secretariat North Block. Its first edition ‘The Northeast Career Yearbook 2012’ had got nominated for National Best Book in the education segment. Moreover, the book has been
preserved in the National Library, informed representatives of Career Track, Imphal Centre.
The handbook aims to guide students on choosing the right career options after higher secondary and graduation and also gives a window information on the available education opportunities that exist. Assam government is said to have recommended the book making it mandatory for Secondary and Higher Secondary schools while Meghalaya government has gone further to make it compulsory for Class-IV up to Post Graduation. On the other hand, previous editions of the yearbook are in college libraries of the state. Also in attendance during the launching event were MLAs Bira, Kh Joykishan, Th Bishwajit and officials of Higher Education and School Education.
